This interactive project, seven years in the making was produced in conjunction with the Timbuktu Renaissance Initiative and released by Co-Director Cynthia Schneider this past spring. The article also describes how the texts of the five-hundred-year-old manuscripts are being used to inspire peace-building in current, conflict-ridden Mali, something the Timbuktu Renaissance does through music.
