In June 2024, Global Fellow Fidaa Ataya collaborated with Lab Associate Director Emma Jaster to bring international storytellers to Italy, sharing their expertise with students from the Seraj Art of Storytelling Academy.

The week-long residency brought together six storytelling students from Palestine who worked closely with an impressive roster of Global Fellows and professional storytellers. The mentors included Jasmin Cardenas (Colombia/USA), Nwabisa Plaatjie (South Africa), and renowned storyteller Praline Gay Parra (Lebanon/France).

Currently, Emma is partnering with Lab collaborator and videographer Luca Giraudo to create a documentary showcasing the women’s stories shared during this enriching residency. We’re excited to share a preview of this work-in-progress!

Here is a preview of that work! If you are aware of opportunities or connections that might support the development of this piece please reach out!
