The Lab’s Co-Founding Director Amb. Cynthia Schneider and Community Engagement Associate and Artist Mélisande Short-Colomb joined a discussion to unpack the significance of Malian manuscripts from the 1400s, now made available on the online platform Mali Magic by Google Arts & Culture. Scholar Dr. Herbert Brewer and cultural preservationist Lama Eldesouky also participated in the discussion. The event took place at the Central Library, Dweck Center in Brooklyn.
At a time characterized by polarization and distrust, the need for approaches that humanize others through narrative and empathy has never been greater. The Lab is dependent on outside funding in order to make our work possible.
