With a foundation in linguistics and communication from Sophia University and Georgetown University, my artistic journey reflects a blend of cultural inquiry and personal expression. Inspired by artists like Vincent van Gogh, Henri Matisse, and Yayoi Kusama, I see art as a powerful means of communication—an opportunity to bridge divides, challenge norms, and ignite dialogue. It wasn’t just a utensil but a symbol of nuanced cultural differences and the complexities of identity. Through my academic journey, these nuances transformed into a passion: understanding cultural representation in media, especially within East Asian contexts. To me, art transcends aesthetics; it is a language that speaks to identity, memory, and the connections that bind us. Drawing from my experiences living in Tokyo and Shanghai, my work engages themes of multicultural identity and the Asian American experience, blending traditional forms with contemporary digital media. I aim to create pieces inviting reflection and connection, honoring the individual and collective narratives that shape our world.
