Colum Goebelbecker is an actor and recent graduate of The Georgetown College having received a government major and theater minor. Colum first encountered the power of performance to humanize politics while studying conflict resolution at Queens University, Belfast. The following spring, he had the opportunity to experience that power firsthand as a participant in the Lab’s trip to Cambodia, and his performances in Our Class and Okinawa Field Trip with the Georgetown Theater Department further cemented his passion for social justice and commitment to a career in theater. Colum is excited this summer to contribute even more directly to the mission and work of the Lab.
At a time characterized by polarization and distrust, the need for approaches that humanize others through narrative and empathy has never been greater. The Lab is dependent on outside funding in order to make our work possible.
