Sofia Doroshenko is a junior in the School of Foreign Service studying Culture and Politics with a minor in International Development and a certificate in Eurasian, Russian, and Eastern European Studies. Sofia’s major concentration is in Narratives and Nation-building, specifically in how narratives, memory, identity, and culture intersect in creating the idea of a nation. In addition to the Lab, Sofia is a Mortara Undergraduate Research Assistant and a member of Georgetown’s Outdoor Education Club. She is also a freelance face painter here on campus.
At a time characterized by polarization and distrust, the need for approaches that humanize others through narrative and empathy has never been greater. The Lab is dependent on outside funding in order to make our work possible.
