Brendan Oliss is a freshman in the College at Georgetown University from Cleveland, Ohio. He intends to join the School of Foreign Service and study Science, Technology, and International Affairs, as well as Mandarin Chinese with the pre-med track. Outside of the classroom, he is a delegate and staffer for Georgetown Model United Nations, a writer for The Hoya, and a member of Green Team and Hoya Hive. Through The Lab, he hopes to grow his interests in acoustic guitar, Irish literature, and performance while bringing his previous experience with Sudanese performance art and nonviolence to the cohort.
At a time characterized by polarization and distrust, the need for approaches that humanize others through narrative and empathy has never been greater. The Lab is dependent on outside funding in order to make our work possible.
