I am Marina Mitrinović, a sophomore in the School of Foreign Service from the Chicago suburbs, hoping to major in Culture and Politics and complete a certificate in Eurasian, Russian, and Eastern European Studies. I gravitated towards the intersection between art and international politics with the hope of making political issues human issues through the personal connection that art can establish. I am particularly interested in how art can be used in post-conflict areas and areas currently in conflict to promote healing and reconciliation.
At a time characterized by polarization and distrust, the need for approaches that humanize others through narrative and empathy has never been greater. The Lab is dependent on outside funding in order to make our work possible.
