In 2025, The Lab teamed up with our friends at La Mama Experimental Theatre Club to host a Gathering in NYC, in convergence with the Festival/ Conference season, offering an opportunity to connect as collaborators and Lab community members in challenging times.
Building on the beautiful experience in 2025, The Lab returned in 2026 to offer facilitated sessions, share-outs, and quality time together to inspire, reconnect and imagine forward with changemakers eager to respond to the political challenges of the moment through creative tactics.
These gatherings have been made possible through the partnership of La Mama and the generous support of Venturous Theater Fund.

This event included facilitated sessions, shareouts from Global Fellows and Creative Core, and attendance at SpaceBridge, Conceived and directed by Lab Creative Core Member Irina Kruzhilina.
2026 - At a Glance
The Lab’s Art of Care Initiative advances the idea that art and care are profoundly linked—and that this linkage can lead to more caring systems, healthier communities, and a more just and humane world. In this spirit, we brought together colleagues already in the New York area during the Festival/ Conference season for a one-day Lab Gathering, a “Convergence of Care.”
